I'm looking for some drum pads (for fun - not too expensive).
What do you peeps think about Roland's SPD-series?
Can i use it to trig my sampler etc? (if the onboard sounds are crap)
Can i use standard wooden drum-sticks for it? And can i beat them hard (and realistic) without damaging some plastic?

sorry, can't help you on the roland ones, but this guy does some... http://www.wernick.net/ I think it's basically a midi trigger, so no onboard sounds... just hook it up to the sampler. We just been using a xylosynth, and the build quality is excellent. Might be worth a look.
