Need a bit of help in which direction to go regards mixers!

I have a an1x, a3000, sw1000xg and a few softsynths

Now do i get a micro mixer like soundcraft notepad to get sounds from synth, sampler into sw1000 and mix in softsynths using cubase

or get something like a dsp factory + ax44 and mix everything through that

If I ditch the sw1000xg (cause i only really use it for effects) get a soundcard with more outputs and get a proper analogue mixer. Could I send softsynths + fx plugins down soundcards outputs to the analogue mixer and back in to souncard to record.

Or am I just missing the point altogether Doh!

I like the idea of mixing with faders and what not better than mixing with the mouse.

This will be my first mixer

youve got it. yes you can buss softsynths and audio tracks to soundcard outputs and mix on an external desk.

if you can afford an RME hammerfall (24ch adat out) and then some good DA converters youre SET
