I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!

I keep getting this error about "You gotta associate the track with at least ONE Genre/Flava - Please step back and select one from the list," every time I upload. I select a genre, press then upload button, wait 5-10 minutes, read error, press back, repeat.

And, by the way, which is the max file size? 1mB or 1.5mB?

1.5mb max - but remember how windows works, rounding off the size often under it's real size by a few hundred kb... so checkit. cant see why you get a 'GENRE/FLAVA' error if you are ticking a flava - others seem to have added tracks ok... i'll try it all again tonight and post up some old tracks of mine to test it all over again to be sure.

I don't geddit. What I'm trying to upload is an .mp3 22,050 mono 24 kbps, 2:30 long, 442 KB, and the server keeps rejecting it. I must be a damn foo. Whale, you knew that. I'll try mebbe later through IE.

Okay - I don't understand. I just recorded my track at 22k, mono, and I'm trying to save it as an MP3, but I'm getting an error that the MP3 encoding can't handle anything less than 44k. I am using Cool Edit 2000, and I don't see anything that allows me to change the bit rate to 24kbs. Basically, I'm not allowed to select the encoding rate. What do I do? I've only seen that ability in Music Match. Can cool edit do it?

Hallelujah! Defector is converted! I use audioactive. It'll make the files directly off a 44.1 k stereo wave. Dumbfuck (me) noticed this after I'd hacked 'em down in Sound Forge. Mebbe I'll try the direct way with one I've already done and see if there's any audible difference. Equally crappy I'd assume.

just done alot of bug removing - you might have wondered what the hell wqs going on if you tried to make any tracks into you r track-basket... that's all fixed and it somehow we missed that..

DZ - CoolEdit 2000 can do it. thought you would get this, but...

load up your file.

go to Save as...

choose MP3 as the format.

there's a button for Options. Selecting this will let you choose the format.
22Khz, 22050, etc. is there. The Fraunhofer encoder (the one used in CoolEdit)
is slower but is supposed to be one of the better ones too.

fixed 2 bugs - 1 was making an error if you try to upload a track text change details without a file - dunno how that got there it was fine a day ago - so um if you had probs updating tracks - it's fixed -

also the tracks associated with albums were not getting the file names right - thats fixed too.
